› Our roots stretch back more than 70 yrs to a time when we were first established in 1947 and began making higher education more accessible for working adults, many of whom were servicemembers and veterans returning from World War II. In 1949, our global tradition began when we became the first university to send professors overseas to teach active-duty servicemembers stationed in Europe. Today, we continue that tradition with classes offered online and in more than 20 countries around the world.
